Position: Business Analyst
Location: Devis Home Office, Arlington VA

Devis (Development InfoStructure) seeks a full-time experienced Business Analyst. The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 3-5 years experience working in the information technology field as a Business Analyst. This person may also perform functions as a deputy Project Manager and facilitate much of the client interaction. The candidate should be a highly motivated professional who is detail-oriented and has excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in and document requirements gathering sessions with functional process owners and users.
• Translate the requirements into detailed functional/system specifications.
• Update existing requirement and system design documents
• Serve as liaison between technical staff and users during software development and testing activities
• Facilitate customer meetings for sign-off at various stages of the software development life cycle.
• Monitor software change requests using a ticket tracking system.
• Provide what-if scenario-building to identify and manage risks.
• Design and develop use and test case scenarios.
• Think analytically to determine the scope of a project and opportunities for reengineering, technology insertion, or technology enhancement.
• Use structured software life cycle & development methodologies, (Rational Unified Process, RUP).
• Develop step-by-step user manuals with accompanying screenshots

Qualifications:

• Experience with Web-based applications is required.
• 3-5 years proven experience as a business analyst in IT.
• Ability to provide user support by investigating and resolving user problems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time-management and multi-tasking skills.
• Knowledge of UML or system diagramming tools to produce requirement and design documentation.
• Working knowledge of HTML and JavaScript is a plus.
