Devis was recognized by the trade press for providing the first Java open solution in use Government-wide. The article 'Hitting a high-Tech Trifecta' in the June 19, 2000 edition of Federal Computer Week stated that "Some of the hottest buzzwords of the day are XML, Java and Linux, but even the most savvy government CIO or industry analyst would be surprised to learn that all three of those technologies are being used in a single, government wide application... which runs on a suite of open source software."
In a recent 2004 interview Devis President, Peter Gallagher, said "When we built and implemented the Federal Exchanges Database System or FEDS for the Department of State in 1999, Java/XML and open source were seen as a bit radical. Now all of these technologies are recognized by the Federal Enterprise Architecture. And the FEDS is still operational and being managed/hosted securely by Devis on contractor owned and operated equipment. FEDS is a prime example of the type of support and the level of service Devis provides to customers."
