FOSE, the nation's largest information technology conference and exhibition for government, was held March 23-25 in Washington, DC. The "Emerging Components Conference" was hosted by FOSE and is supported by GSA and the Emerging Technology Subcommittee of the Federal CIO Council. Devis President Peter Gallagher presented on two issues, one addressing how new grid approaches can support distributed information sharing and another on innovation in collaboration with the Arlington, VA Economic Development Commission. The Emerging Components Conference identified opportunities and environmental factors related to how technology and capital can be leveraged to improve small business innovation.
Government Computer News in its "FOSE 2004 delivers techie goodies" article highlighted the Department of Labor e-learning application created by Devis. EZ Reusable Objects will let agencies build Web-based e-learning courses, said Peter Gallagher, president of Development InfoStructure. The Arlington, Va., IT consulting firm helped Labor build the application. EZRO is an example of the resource-sharing model of how companies, agencies and open-source software makers can collaborate and build apps, Gallagher said."
