Devis’ Cutting Edge Role in eGovernment Open Source Noted in InfoWorld – March 2004

In a March 12, 2004 article published in InfoWorld, Devis is recognized for its leading role in helping the Federal Government's recent trend in using more Open Source Software (OSS). Devis' OSS projects for the Department of Labor and the US Agency for International Development are highlighted as stories not only of successful implementations, but also as examples of how these systems were able to reduce the agencies costs.

Tony Stanco, Organizer of the Open Source in Government conference series presented by the Center for Open Source and Government, anticipates a major shift towards OSS in the Federal Government as more agencies seek to reduce software licensing costs. Devis President Peter Gallagher adds "There's been a major change within the last year" towards the increased use of OSS in the Federal Government.
