AMIR Program exercises Option Year Contract for Devis - August 2005

The AMIR Program announced on that it will exercise its fourth-year contract option with Devis starting August 1, 2005. Chemonics International, AMIR's prime contractor, said that Devis has been a vital partner in supporting AMIR's successful Information and Communication Technology component, while also contributing valuable software development expertise in the automation of the project's complex management needs. The AMIR Program is an innovative economic opportunity project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented in partnership with Jordan's private sector and government.

Chemonics management noted Devis' contribution to generating one success after another and adhering to high standards along the way. Devis' recent contractor evaluation stated "Devis staff has consistently been accountable and responsible for the tasks we asked them to execute… We entrust them with leading discussions at all levels of CI".

Over the first three years of the program, Devis has provided information technology guidance and inputs to take advantage of opportunities for synergy and linkages among all the program components. Tasks and services accomplished by Devis include:

• IT Strategic planning;
• Information and communications technology (ICT) solutions, including management information systems (MIS);
• Support for e-Government development and deployment:
  • Development of e-Government action plans;
  • Support for development of e-Government content;
  • Business process re-engineering;
• Local procurement of multiple IT consulting firms services
• Program results monitoring, and reporting;
• Technical assistance;
• IT Sectoral, analytical and feasibility studies.
