Day to day tasks may include:
- Debug CSS browser compatibility issues
- Write JavaScript to support UI interaction
- Check in and manage project artifacts using a source control system
- Solve human factors problems for Web applications
- Create production ready HTML pages for hand off to a developer
- Develop pages according to accessibility guidelines
Applicants should have the following qualifications:
- Four year degree from an accredited institution
- 1-3 years experience
- Examples of prior UI development projects is desirable
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in building interactive applications
- Working knowledge of Section 508 or WAI-WCAG
- Strong usability analysis skills; knowledge of usability principles and techniques
- Experience with design tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, Visio, etc.
- Experience with JSP, Velocity, or Zope a plus

Mid-Level Java Developer
Location: Devis Headquarters, Arlington VA
Devis (Development InfoStructure) seeks a full-time Java/Grails Application Developer. The developer will work in a diverse project team with an emphasis on repeatable processes and technical documentation. Responsibilities
- Lead small technical teams of 2-3 developers
- Mentor and coach junior Java developers.
- Design, develop, and implement web-based Java EE applications to support business requirements.
- Follow approved life cycle methodologies, create design documents, and perform program coding and unit testing.
- Resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.
- Manage multiple concurrent tasks.
What qualifies you:
- 3+ years of experience with Java and J2EE development
- 3+ years of experience with a relational database, including Oracle
- Solid understanding of Object oriented analysis and design patterns/techniques with emphasis on Java/J2EE technology
- Experience with software development best practices (RUP, Scrum, Agile)
- Knowledge across Java Open-Source technologies (Spring, Struts, JUnit)
- Solid understanding of relational database concepts (SQL)
- Highly organized, Energetic, Creative, Passionate, Works well with others
What will set you apart from other applicants:
- Oracle and SQL server experience
- Knowledge of Groovy and Grails
- Knowledge of Visual Source Safe and/or CVS
- Knowledge of JBOSS and Apache Tomcat Application Servers
- Experience with Eclispe IDE
