As technical leader of the company, Martin Hudson has built a sustainable and efficient software development and systems implementation architecture to meet strategic goals.
Hudson has more than eighteen years of progressive Management Information Systems experience in financial, human resources and project management systems and has provided technical, strategic and executive level consulting for a variety of Devis’s civil government clients including the U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. Department of State, General Services Administration, the Department of Labor and other Federal and private sector customers.
His software development process initiative resulted in the Devis “Agile Infostructure Process” (AIP). AIP is a unique requirements gathering and test-driven software development methodology that builds on the best aspects of rapid application development, agile/extreme programming, with an appropriate level of provability and repeatability.
His expertise in technical infrastructure allowed him to engineer one of the first fully virtualized hosting centers running production systems for the Federal government. Devis’s Federal Clients Internet Infrastructure facility combines numerous technologies and outsourcing relationships to provide a secure, low cost, high availability capability to run Devis software-as-a-service products and customer-owned systems via Devis managed application services. The FCII has met stringent government security and continuity of operations testing.
Hudson has promoted ground-breaking work in distributed XML applications resulted in some of the first production systems using XML in the federal government. This focus on standards-based interfaces leads to the early implementation of enterprise service bus, web services, and services oriented architecture frameworks. An expert database designer and programmer, principally C++, Java, and Python, Hudson is also known for his innovative solutions to the unique challenges presented by web-based application architectures and eGovernment projects.
Prior to joining Devis in 1992, Hudson worked as a senior systems analyst where he developed expertise in networking, systems design, software development and database design, and served as a faculty member at Virginia Polytechnic Institute from 1990-1992. Hudson completed Doctoral work (ABD) in Strategic Management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and holds an M.B.A. from The College of William and Mary and a B.S. in Business Administration from George Mason University. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
