About NRD and the Veterans Job Bank The National Resource Directory (https://www.nationalresourcedirectory.gov/) promotes excellence and open government by integrating information technology and data from multiple Federal Agencies and the private sector. The NRD shows the power of collaboration, innovation and the use of shared technology solutions to bring information on relevant services and programs to our nation's Veteran and military communities.
Since the program's inception in 2008, the NRD has served as a leading online resource that connects wounded, ill and injured Service Members, Veterans, their families and care providers to the information, services and support they need. It offers easy access to a full range of medical and non-medical programs and resources available to America's wounded warriors during their recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration. Visitors to the site can find information about Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, military and Veterans' benefits, VA health care and educational opportunities, homeless assistance, employment and much more.
In addition to this content, the NRD features the Veterans Job Bank, which connects Veterans to jobs targeted specifically for them, and a mobile version, social media functionalities and several widgets that can be embedded on any third-party website. As a result of these features, the NRD's content is now being leveraged by dozens of organizations, including Congressional offices, the USO and the White House's Joining Forces initiative.
